Places To Visit in Ukhimath

Omkar Ratneshwar Mahadev
The temple, which is dedicated to Nag Devta, is 1 km uphill from Saari village in the direction of Devariya Tal. In terms of the mandap and garbhgriha, the temple architecture is similar to that of Kedarnath and Tungnath, two other well-known temples in Uttarakhand. A Naag-like lingam with copper coils around it can be found inside the sanctum sanctorum.

Kalimath Temple
Goddess Kali is said to have submerged herself beneath the earth here after she killed the devil Raktbeej, according to legend. Pilgrims and devotees worship a Sri Yantra, a silver plate covering the point where Goddess Kali enters the earth. Around the silver plate was built a Kali Mata Temple. Only on the eighth day of Navratri, when the Sri Yantra is removed from the temple and only the Chief Priest performs Puja at midnight, is the silver plate ever opened.
