Places To Visit in Chopta

Tungnath
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati both reside in the Himalayas: Mount Kailash is where Lord Shiva resides. Additionally, Parvati is referred to as Shail Putri, which translates to "little girl of slopes." The Pandavas' Panch Kedar sanctuaries are a cause for which the Tunganath is forever connected. According to legend, the wise Vyas Rishi advised the Pandavas that since they were responsible for the deaths of their own relatives (Kauravas, their cousins) during the Mahabharata or Kurukshetra wars, Lord Shiva alone could acquit them.

Deoriatal
It is also held to be the location from which Yaksha inquired about the powerful Pandavas. Locals also claimed that Bheem, the strongest Pandava, worked on this lake to quench his thirst, and Yudhister, the most shrewd of the Pandavas, advised Bheem to build his own lake.

Chandrshila
The summit of the Tungnath is Chandrashila. Actually, it means "Moon Rock." It rises approximately 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level. The Himalayas, particularly Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, and Chaukhamba peaks, are clearly visible from this peak.
